Hey All

I have a 210 saloon 220 cdi auto , there seems to be a problem with my auto box . When the car shifts from 3rd to 4th the revs rise as the gears change , also between 4th and 5th though not always and its less prominent . If im accelerating hard then the revs jump higher , almost like something is slipping . It only happens when the car is fully warmed .

I have had the ATF fluid changed along with the filter and plug housing . I havent scanned it yet to check for any codes . Can anyone shed some light on this , Im reckoning il have to change the box

Does it definitely have enough fluid in, if so, the friction material is worn or a valve is sticking.

Try a bottle of Lubegard Platinum in it for £15 it is worth a punt? American forums swear by this stuff you can get it on Ebay.

Thanks guys , I can get the garage who serviced the box to check the fluid level again .

Il get a bottle of that Lubegard and give it a try

Hope it is an easy fix

thanks , I hope it is too , if had my fare share of expensive repair bills with cars .

My e320 cdi has developed the exact same problem, atf changed no difference. No fault codes present let us know of the outcome.

Flaring is indicative of something sticking in the valve body. It could be caused by debris and using some kind of chemical may help. But a trip to the transmission shop may be in order.

from my research it can be down to valve body bypass in one of the spools, Sonnax do a repair kit but means dropping valve body out of box thats why a £15 bottle of fluid is worth a try?

thanks guys , Im gonna talk with the indy who serviced the box and see if he put any additives in , if he didnt ill try that Lubegear .
Failing this it will have the be a strip down .
Ill post back when I know more

I've ordered the additive and dipstick via ebay. Will know more over weekend.
