Hi,
on my 230TE 1988, one of the nice features (I always thought) was when the engine is running, and the sidelights (ONLY) are on you get a brighter beam. It saves having dipped beam headlights on when you don't really need them.
Recently however, this feature has only been working intermittently. I have looked at my Haynes manual, and also asked the MB dealership, and neither seems to say anything about it.
I suspect a sticking relay somewhere is to blame...I think it must switch in/out a resister in the sidelight lighting circuit as there are no other filiments in the bulb to give the brighter sidelight.
Anyone come across this, and/or any ideas how to fix?
Thx
