300ce widebody

Honestly cant wait to see the finished project. Looks absolutely amazing Ed.

Hi Ed, just been reading about your fuelling solution using the Split Second AIC. Could you tell me a little more about it so I can see if I can apply it to my turbo install rather than using the MF2 injector driver?

Thanks

The Split Second Additional Injector Controller 's only function is to fire additional injectors.
It's a small cigarette size computer that requires 12VDC +/-, a RPM signal from the tach circuit and a manifold port connection to its internal MAP sensor. The output is to the addtional injector(s).

It uses software to program the fuel map based on RPM and manifold pressure inputs to fire the additional injectors thus enriching the air fuel ratio.

Slowly but surely

Trunk on, sorted all the parts that have been removed to enable ease of assembly.
Ordering new rubbers for the trim parts...:thumb:

Comparing to the Hammer C124 Widebody in the AMG museum.
The Porsche sheetmetal is as close as one can get to the extremely rare AMG kit!!! ;)

Looks great, I can't believe how long it's taken. Your a far more patient man than me!

But it does look spot on!!

Those wheels look great Aka$h :thumb: What make of tyres are they ?

It's looking great.

It's looking great.

Tires are Kumho Ecsta XS..front 245/40/17, rear 295/35/17.

Aka$h supplied a great set of wheels and modified the rear offsets for the widebody stance.

( Front wheels in the latest pix are an old set of Borbet Type A which were used during painting. )

But it still doesnt answer a question, do you shave down the hub part of the wheel

Just as "MaxMatt' posted......

Aka$h ( Simal ) can better explain how the combination of lips, barrels and center sections can alter the offset by moving the center section to the front or to the rear of the centerline of the wheel.

If you look closely at the wheel you'll see a ring of small special head socket bolts that hold the wheel together...remove these and the wheel is in it's component pieces.

Using a wider wheel without altering the stock offset will create interference problems with the suspension and/or sheet metal.

Below is a pic ( not the AMG wheel ) of the component parts of a multi piece wheel.

Slowly slowly catchy monkey. A great colour the Recaro's really look good.

The satin black trims works really well... it was a last minute choice on my widebody but it makes the world of difference.

Thanks Jay

On your C126 wasn't the trim originally chrome?

The 124's were black when new but morphed to a brownish gold anodized look with age.

Seeing yours with the satin black along with Henric's ( 48HP ) USA build convinced me that satin black is the way to go.

Not decided on the grille yet...shell is signal red, but have done two inserts..one all signal red and the other satin black with the stock chrome trim strips...
Leaning toward the satin black as the headlights are Hella French with the yellow reflectors and bumper mounted driving lights either yellow or clear..probably go with the yellow for a more "Euro" look along with the dark amber Euro corner lights.

The grille has to match in Satin Black!
