300ce widebody

The satin black trims works really well... it was a last minute choice on my widebody but it makes the world of difference.

After i bought the CL the trims which where also anodized where in a bad way. I had them colour coded, which looked great. After a few months the paint had really weird scratches on both sides, as if someone had washed the car with a ring on there finger. I took it back to the body shop, they couldn't understand it so they redid them. Six months later same thing.

I gave up and bought new anodized trims, which really look good. I should have done that in the first place  They worked out around £100.00 each

When you had the trims painted did the shop properly prep the base metal and clear coat over the color?
I did the satin black with a matte clear coat.
The clearcoat should be hard enough to preclude scratching.
Problem with the 124 is that much of the trim is no longer available from MB.
I need two small interior trim pieces which cracked from many years of sunlight...no longer available so I have no choice but to repair :thumb:

I did ask the body shop if they had prepared them properly, of course they said they had and started scratching there head. That's when i walked away muttering or words to that affect.

"Scratching the head" is always a dead give away

Not colour coding the side mirrors?

Awesome looking car, congrats on a great build. It's almost a shame when projects like this get finnished as there'll no more updates to read.

Mmm ... also not convinced about the yellow front lamps. Looking fabulous apart from that.

Not that you need any approving comments from me, but I think the yellow and the orange on the red is to die for!

I also love the black grille with OEM chrome!

Truly magnificent!!!

Stunning.
