4 or 6 pot ?

I have owned both a 2.0 4 pot C200 and 2.8 V6 C280 for several years. I love them both. However, the V6 has the edge. It is wonderfully quiet, refined & powerful. OK slightly more thirsty than the C200 but as my annual mileage is pretty low, it's not really an issue. Go for a 2.8 V6 and I don't think you'll regret it. Only trouble is I don't there are that many about.

As others have said go for a nice C280 - take your time there are a few around at that age and many of them have nice specs.

A C43 AMG could be another good choice :D

In terms of diesels, I think the only large diesel available on the W202 was the C250? Anyway, the OP is talking about a mid-life crisis, where does MPG & diesel come into that???

V6 or V8 petrol all the time...

Just bite the bullet and go for an AMG. Go on, you know you want to really...

Think we've already established that the Alfa was his mid life crisis, the type of Merc he's after is his way of slipping into old age and wants it to match the slippers he's already got on order :thumb:

Well, the man said "I am suffering a midlife crisis and for some strange reason found myself wanting an auto." The Alfa is his toy/money pit, I think.

I think an AMG should be good for a mid-life crisis; I didn't even realise I was having (well, had had - some while ago) one until I bought the E55.....

E55BOF

We should add that the W202 C250TD is a 5 pot (20 valve).

cant do with diesels.... petrol and a v..... the alfa is an obsession and its a v6 so cant see myself going back to 4 pot.

back on the merc front , have looked at a few this weekend and omg rust rust and more rust. went to look at a low miler with 55.000 on the clock it needed the bottom of all the doors treating and both rear wheel arches all for £2200.

really want a rust free one lol.
