4 Seater Convertibles

surely illegal without proper child seats!

Someone's mentioned a 996 - if your back seat passengers are small why not one of the 911s - my kids fit easily in the 964 and will be able to for a few years yet......

The only problem is the facial expressions.......

Oh yes - and all for £13k.......

err - reminder to self - this is a Mercedes forum....

Hello,

Whats your budget around 15k? My brother had a Saab Convertible 2.0hot and that was very comfy had lots of toys as standard but front wheel drive and hectic if pushing on.

I had a 330 M-sport BMW and have to say that was a lovely smooth engine, sounded great, fitted a lot in the boot, and I still think they look smart especially the M sport versions.

The A4 Cabs always look good, and you know the build we be very good, Again a nice 3.0 one would be nice.

At 15K, with a choice of the Saab, BMW, CLK, Audi they are all nice motors and all will have some things better than others all depends what you want. I'm biased as I had the BM, but I'm not one of those people that think they are the ultimate driving machine? yes they are good but so are most cars these days.

If you go for any, watch out for the wear on the roof where they fold, as replacements are exspensive and also I would hold out for heated seats. Couldn't belive when looking for mine the amount with out and it was ony around £225 option from new? I would drive roof down in almost any weather, bum wamers on and heating on GREAT !! ooh and if you go for the BM I was advised against and auto (I know all mercs would be) apparently its shocking on fuel at up to 5mpg less than the manual (I got around 20 round town) but it's GREAT fun.

Enjoy.

Hello,

"metal roof, almost a must these days on busy M and A roads from the noise point of view"

Have to say in the convertibles I have either owned or been a passenger in none have me thinking, ooh its noisey? I've Had an early MX5, Z3 and a BMW 330, Wifes had a new shape MX5, brothers had a Saab, Dads had an SLK and currently a 500SL.

I think that although on the SLK, SL the metal roofs do look smart and also offer better security often the tin top roof completly spoils the lines of the car and its almost an after thought.

Seems strange the BMW 6 series, Bently, porsche and Rolls to name but a few stick with mohair roofs. I think the modern ones are far far better than you may give them credit for? even the mazda was a tripple skin design.

all imho

saabs are under-rated. I had one it was great (then I got a 129 and realised what "great" meant).

I think it was Clarkson that said

"The last person to look good in the back of a four seat convertible was Hitler"

Hello,

Have to agree, in my 330 although I did have four adults in it a few time you would NOT want to go far in the back....then you have to try and get out.

Pics of mine, still think it looks nice sold for 15K, I had put 19" MV2's just to make it a bit different..
