Both the newer 5.5 biturbo Units,

Seems to be quite a price difference between the normal 5.5 E63 which is around 38K upwards to the 5.5 E63 S which is 50K plus..

What's the power differences between the 2? Do they come with locking rear differentials as optional extras? Are the engine internals and turbos the exact same?

Anyone driven both and anyone went from a C63 to an E63 TT?

This is pleasing to me, but surprising - are you comparing similar age/mileage/spec?

I didn't find this when I bought mine about 12 months ago.

The only worthwhile difference is the LSD. Power difference goes away when both are mapped.

I don't like the silver seat belts, the constrasting stitching on seats is nice, but not worth the extra I think.

Seems like a quaife and remap is the way forward on a non S E63 5.5.

Wouldn't mind one after my C63.

My experience (I was looking late Jan / early Feb and bought mid-Feb) is that there are very, very few E63S cars in the Approved Used network. Those that were tended to be "poverty spec", i.e. with no options on them like Driving Assistance Package, Multi-Contour Seats, etc.

The price differential on an 18-month old car for base spec's was around £3k - 4k extra for the S over and above the standard car, and less as they got older.

(Sorry John ;) )

None taken Phil.

Price wise, this was my experience too, but I don't buy pov spec cars (original retail c£90K).

Mine was the one of only two on the Approved Used site during the 3 months I was looking - and that's why I bought it :thumb:.

Buy a normal facelift E63 with Matt grey paint, epic colour and suits the car so well!!

I have black estate E63s and it took a long time to find. Didn't buy new, but got very close. Finally found an ex-MB Mgmt car that had a great spec. The dealer that got my car said there are only 30 Estate E63s in the UK. Not sure if this is true, just what I was told.

Very happy with it and still have 14 months of warranty. After that goes will look at extending warranty and/or going for a remap and downpipes.... Or maybe a new W213 E63s if the piggy bank is in good shape!

P.

I was looking last week and the ones in the dealer network seem to be poverty or not well specced.

I'll wait and see how it goes.

Does anyone know how many E63S saloons were sold in the UK.
