What a lovely car:

MERCEDES 600 GROSSER + WATCH VIDEO from AUTOEMOTIONAL on eBay (end time 28-May-10 20:31:32 BST)

Indeed it is. The seller is a bit of a character though, his cars have been discussed many times on here.

I was watching the video waiting for him to fire it up but it didnt happen :(

It should get to around £30k.

I hope the buyer has deep pockets. The hydraulics on a 600 are notoriously difficult to work on and as a result very, very expensive to fix.

Even seasoned Mercedes mechanics run a mile when a 600 with gremlins comes in.

There are only a handful of true 600 specialists out there - most are in Germany and the US.

Indeed. this is why it's worth mentioning again:

SS Motors
16c Hamm Moor La
Weybridge Business Park
Addlestone
Surrey
KT15 2SD
01932 821555

whose boss (in overalls, not a suit) is the owner of a Grosser (which was on display at MB World) and therefore probably knows as much about MB hydraulics as anyone in the UK does. Known for fixing ADS problems, he also charges at very reasonable rates.

Note how the front is leather and the rear is not - cheap fix in the past?

Looks lovely :thumb:

I remember seeing this particular example on Barons website a few months ago, unfortunately I couldn't make the viewing day to have a look! Don't think it sold either, estimate was £37000-£40000

Barons Auctioneers

Previous owner had it 31 years!

I doubt it.

Leather for durability. West of England cloth for luxury. Just ask the Queen Mother. Oh, wait a minute...

I don't know what that rear seat has been upholstered in, but West of England cloth it isn't. Looks like a combination of cheap velour and jumbo cord. The woodwork on the division looks like something out of a Sixties caravan, and the so-called drinks compartment is particularly vile. Something has gone very badly wrong in the back of that car. Surely that can't be how it left the factory?

Oh, and the commentary on that video is priceless! :D
