911 run in.

Iwoody;1969948 I think this is the first willy waving thread I've read on here!!!! Come on guys said:
You're a being unfair to the Op. And even if it is seen by some as WW it's got to the mildest, surely...

Always coveted the 911 and told wife one day she'd have the pleasure of me owning one ;) Had a 914 for a brief period many years ago.

My next door neighbour is a petrol head of the first degree. His Skyline that he recently sold was totally insane. I spoke to the poor fella that bought it from him, that turned up in a nice stock A4 with his wife and kids. After going out with said neighbour he 'chose' to buy it. I had a brief chat with the happy (sick looking) purchaser and he told me on the test drive my neighbour took it up to 170mph.....and they didn't even go on a motorway!!

I fear it's not the car that creates a driving experience it's very much the driver. Hence when I bought the CLK off the neighbour, I let his wife take me out for a test drive :)

Not an E55, but a slightly modified SL55 with ~550bhp and 600lb vs. a standard 2008 997 turbo tiptronic with sports-chrono is a very close race...

I was disappointed somewhat that the 911 was very slowly walking away from the SL, and continuing to do so well into scary numbers.

A similarly tuned E55 may take the 911 as it's lighter. I used to own a (standard) E55 a few years ago and replaced it with the 911 and the 911 doesn't feel any faster, but I'm sure it is.

Any of the turbos from the 997 Turbo S onwards (they got the far faster shifting PDK instead of my Getrag 5 speed auto incidentally shared with the 55k cars).

I must admit some of the funniest driving moments I had was from when I surprised people in 911's and Ferrari's in my E55 - the look on the faces when a big exec saloon kept up/out accelerated them was priceless.
