A Business

I know this may seem daft, put look into Laws Surrounding the names for firms.

Ian,

You can source some tools and lift etc...from a dealer going bust for example. There's more than you think. Make sure also you factor in your model such cost as disposal of oil, tyres, etc..and courtesy cars if you're gonna them. I work in the motor trade so I'll be happy to give you any help I can. PM me if you want and we'll chat over the phone/internet.

A Kay is the registered owner since 15:59 today, so I guess/hope he is doing Ian a favour....

If so well done Andy:) :bannana:

interesting but I think Zooman beat me to it - and yes I was doing Ian a favour :)

I think its a great idea Ian, I only wish you had started when I had my coupe !...I might even buy another now i know you are considering starting up ! I know you will be excellent at it as you have a real passion for these cars...and word of mouth travels very fast. Good mechanics you can trust are in very short supply.
Some very good advice given by members. I think it is also very important to provide a complete service which includes electrical work ( as someone else stated ) ...sub contract it out, you can still put a handlin charge on the job.
The best of luck you mate.

I think Zooman and me had the same idea at the same time so my hosting company amended my registration to 124works.com

congrats Ian -it would appear you have 2 domains :)

I'll talk to you in the morning

Even if you don't add a charge the customer becomes used to using one repairer for all work, so the risk of defection is lower.
