A few questions about NTG2.5 COMAND

You need the optional media interface, with the media interface plus add on for bluetooth music streaming.

Which, I believe, would cost about £700 in parts alone !

I bought one of them generic FM transmitters, that plug into the base of the iPod/iPhone and the music then comes-up on a free FM channel.

Cons:

You can hear the iPod music on the radio speakers, but that's about it - i.e. you can't control the iPod through COMAND (play/pause/shuffle etc).

Also, some will say that the sound quality isn't as good as it would be through a wired connection - but it's as good as any FM station you can find, which is fine for me.

Pros:

It costs £25 and takes only a couple of minutes to set up...

Or you can get a cheap iPod and the iPod kit (the cheap one from NTG2 works on NTG2.5 given you can fiddle with the wires as described in NTG2.5 FAQ). The album/artist/playlist selection is done in the instrument cluster (I think it needs STAR configuration, mine came with the car).

For NTG2.5 I'm using a SanDisk 16GB card without any problems (it takes a while to cache the directory structure first time you insert the card).

I do have an iPod, I was just trying to avoid having to fork out for the connection kit (£180, plus installation).

How many folders and files (songs) do you have on your SD card? Although I have had my firmware on my NTG2.5 updated, I still have the 255 folders / 4000 files limit. If there wasn't this problem with the limit, I'd be quite happy.
