Thought I'd give the wife a lie-in this morning, so I took the children out with me for a drive in the CL around the country lanes this morning and all I can say is;

What a car, where have you been all my life?!

I'll post a mini review once I've got more miles under my belt, but here's a few arty photos I took this morning...

CL's are peerless - BMW 6's don't even come close IMO.

It looks fab - I was debating driving up for a look/kipper tie today.

In the past I've written (writ?) the CL off for a couple of reasons, one of which is that they are 'an S-Class but with only two doors' and I didn't get on with that W220 that I owned.

But how wrong was I? It's nothing like the W220, maybe I'm being harsh because the S-Class was a diesel and this is a throbbing V8.

If I didn't need five seats, I'd definitely look at a W216 for the next 'family' car.

The rear styling is exceptional, could have been done by a Citroen designer, the front is a bit weak in comparison, it should have been a bit sharper.

I have always admired these cars and am now looking on Autotrader, any tips how I can persuade Caroline that it is a good idea?

That is the problem when a company has a corporate styling theme, to me it tends to dilute the range, especially with the models at the top.

Tell her that you are going to start buying and selling cars as an extra income, starting with a CL and then tell her it's too risky as a sideline so you're quitting after only one car.

Then just keep the CL.
