i have a 2001 230 slk with faulty rear brake lights 
I've tried changing the bulbs, twice, with no result. Both sides are out but the centre led is fine.
I would have been suspicious of something more complex than dodgy contacts if it wasn't for the fact that they didn't both go out at the same time. Off side went first followed a couple of days later by the near side
Can anyone tell me how I can get access to the whole light pod? Ie take it off so I can check the connections? It's got 3 nuts that I can just about see on the inside (must be damn fiddly to undo those) and an allen key nut on the top edge of the boot access slightly to the inside of the light cluster - which do I need to undo??
