Accidentally knocking the W205 out of drive

On my C207 that had the year change of the steering column I knocked it out of drive twice. On both occasions it was at low speed turning right into my drive.

It must have been triggered by my hand but no damage was done but just annoyed that I could do it.

I've done it a few times.....on my Ranger the wipers are there......so I've knocked it into neutral when going for the wipers!!

The reason I ask is worryingly the owners manual makes the following statement.


This would indicate that there is nothing to stop me doing it.

the trans ecu wont let you do that
