Adblue delete

Thanks for that.
To be honest, a full tank in mine used to say it had around 15,000 miles worth of adblue.
So what is the point in the first place. Just another scam i would say. Saying that when i was trucking i used 25 ltr to every 1600 ltr of fuel.

You could say the same about a driver/owner not knowing the minimum tread depth on their tyres, but they’re still responsible for ensuring that they’re compliant.

Not really. Anyone who drives a car should know that tyres wear out and be capable of looking at them. Nobody would expect the average motorist to be able to detect a mapped out EGR valve.

As I said, we all make mistakes and I thank you for pointing out the ones that you think that I made and I must improve my typing skills so that I do not make so many typographical errors such as spacing.
By the way, I think that you will find that "it's" is the abbreviation of "it is". So both would be correct.
And this is exactly what I'm talking about.
Someone who 'Has' to have the last word.
The whole post is grammatically rubbish incorrect, yet it still tries to gain the upper ground.
It's absolutely pathetic.
It ruins forums, it only tries to make people look inferior, and it belongs in the school yard.
Pathetic!

Repetition of "pathetic". The lovely Samantha agrees.

Lack of proper paragraphs and poor syntax! 😁

PS: Syntax is not the VAT on Condoms 👍👍👍

I was responding directly to a post but I thank you for pointing out my perceived grammatical errors.
I will refrain from pointing out yours ,but will draw your attention to the ignore facility.

And how many of those who you say should be capable of looking at the state of their tyres will check the inside walls for damage?

Nobody said that it’s easy to check the road worthiness of cars, but that doesn’t detract from the responsibilities.

We have all voluntarily joined a car forum , so , ergo, we each have some interest in cars , but we all know someone who owns a car who will only take action if a light comes on the dash or they hear an unusual noise while driving....

I also know people who will ignore a light that comes on the dash or an unusual noise while driving, and will only take action when the car finally throws in the towel and grinds to a halt.

You know my wife then?
Despite having automatic climate control in our cars for many years SWMBO will still attempt to "adjust" the temperature by altering the fan speed!

She will also reach over to the radio etc to adjust the volume whilst ignoring the controls on the steering wheel 🤣

As for using the gear shift paddles............ 🤔

When I got my Beemer, Mrs Spiky remarked on the fact that it has a 'traditional' pull-up handbrake, not an electronic parking brake like her SEAT.
Apparently my response of "Somewhere to hang your handbag" was not appropriate :D

I thought that was the choke cable in older cars? 🤣

With emissions related stuff it's more a question of what it's possible for the average driver to check.

On a general note, being responsible for something does not mean that the responsibly cannot be discharged by appointing a qualified or suitably-skilled professional.

The responsibility for the roadworthiness of the car is discharged by the owner by taking the car to an MOT testing centre. The responsibility for repairs being made to legal and safe standards can be discharged by taking the car to a garage. etc.

The owner needs to be able to demonstrate that they have acted reasonably in the circumstances. If the car passed its MOT, and the owner has no prior knowledge of any modifications, and has no reason to suspect that the car may have been modified, then they have discharged their responsibly for the car being roadworthy as fas as emissions go.

Not putting adblue in for 3 years or 20,30k miles would raise my suspicion.

Why? If the car is being serviced by a dealer every year, then you would trust them "to do what's necessary" - why would you assume that they did not top-up the AdBlue?

Obviously, if you service your car DIY, then this is a different matter.
