Hi folks..

quick search did show up much...

just got hold of a bose setup.. not really interested in the speakers or the amp (anyone) but did want the bulkhead 'carpet' with 'holes' n possibly the mounts?

Q1:

Any info on taking the old 'carpet' (what do you call it??) out.. Don't want to break anything and I don't want it to start rattling when I put it all back.. so any tips or pics?

Q2:

Once its out, what will I find??? ( portal to another dimension??) I'll have the bose speaker mounts.. any good for fitting some standard speakers into the same recesses? If not, any suggestions on mounting / speakers, I'll be driving them from the head unit, 30w rms per channel.. so looking for some good mid range speakers..

Q3:

I'm also after putting a small active sub under drivers or pass (or both!) seats.. I want this to be done as professionally as possible, but I don't know how much space there is under there??

Any suggestions on active subs? seen a few but not sure if they will fit or if they sound any good....

Q4:

How simple ?? is it to remove the seats? Could I get away with not taking them out?

Q5:

Power, is there some high amp power I can tap into?? rather than having to run cable from the batt? I don't mind.. but I'd rather not if I don't have to...

I'm not after panel shaking vibrations or extreme chav-flatulence, just a nice full front and rear sound with some bass, that can still be heard with the roof down...

thanks in advance..

Here is a link to the site I used for removal of the bulkhead carpet.

www.kotikone.fi/eerola/auto/diy/170rollbars/index.html

There are four more screw caps along the bottom of the carpet.

I have managed to fit 6.5" speakers using mdf mounts, needed to build out the speakers due to the lack of depth behind the panel. Also the stock carpet sits about 2" proud of the rear bulkhead in places.

I am currently using them as sub only. Using them for full midrange can move the soundstage in the cabin too much to the rear.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, just what I needed.... MDF mounts.. :( oh well.. if it must be it must be...

My head unit has front / rear fade plus non fade sub, so I think it will be ok with full range behind once adjusted...

Now I just need a free weekend....

:)

thanks again..

There was a how to do this in the owners club magazine a couple of months back. Its probably viewable on line if you are a member
