Just in the process of ordering a CLK 320 CDI SPORT. Can someone tell me the difference between the ordinary metallic option and the designo paint option.
Paint and scratch 'reesistant' don't really make good bed fellows. I think you might have read about Mercedes-Benz nano paint technology. This is now used on most Mercedes-Benz. It is certainly far, far more durable than the paint used prior to early 2004, but you must remember it is still paint. It will chip, it will scratch, but it is without doubt more durable.
Our previous 210 suffered dozens of small 'chips' to the paintwork over a 12 month period. Our 211 on the same roads, with the same mileage and the new paint has so far just one!!! I am touching wood as I type this as my wife is at present out in the car.
The designo range is simply a choice of what I will tactfully say 'different colours' Your dealer should have samples of all the different colours that are available.
