Aerial Question

Hey guys,

I think the W202 Aerial when fully extended looks quite silly.
i think all cars Aerials when fully extended wobbling around everywhere
doesn't look that good. My Aerial is broken (is stuck on a half way down position)

Are there any ulturatives to just replacing it?
can you put those small rubber ones on?

Kinda like this one? Of course without the stupid blue LED on the end?

The standard mast shouldn't wobble about; fixing your stuck one is probably going to be cheap and easy (a replacement mast is not much, even from a dealer). I personally prefer the totally clean look when the aerial is down, but if you like a 'fin' type better then go for it.

Post-facelift's dont have one. You could use the internal aerial from a post '97 W202 and then simply plug the gap/filler and respray?

Depends on how deep the pockets at the minute though i guess!

I wouldnt go for the fin look personally, not OEM and a little large to be on the side of the car.

Get the hole filled and fit a universal interior glass mount one, pick them up anywhere decent for a tenner.

Stick it on the windscreen is quicker, rear screen is a bit more fiddly and may need an extension lead for the aerial coax but not a hard job.

Have a look on ebay but if they are more than £10 let me know!

A normal fin mount wouldnt look right on the side of the car but the type you get on the SL or SLK would look better.
