Hi guys and girls,

I have a Mercedes Elegance 200C 1995.
I have recently installed a new pionner headunit.
All works fine apart from, the aerial at rear of car does not come out when unit is turned on or switched to radio mode.

The factory unit seemed to work fine and aerial would come out.

Is there a certain wire or connector that im missing for the aerial to come out?

hi there, the AUX link which auto powers the aerial tends to be a blue or purple colour on the head unit and ISO block. also ensure the power connection options are correct there can sometimes be a multiple of options some exclude auto aerial.

Pioneer head units usually always acativate the electric aerial as soo as they are powered on - like RJIF said check that the connection are correct...

if you can pm me or post a diagram of the head unit wiring i may be able to help further :)

right!there should be a large main loom with iso block on one end and a terminal connection block to audio equipment on the other, according to the diagram you need to locate the BLUE/WHITE wire, one located at each end, there should already be a fixed means of connector IE: blade connector like this o_o and __ hope you understand the type i mean. both wires should be from the same loom, connect them together and try the aerial.let me know outcome ;)

just to also note that when i put my panasonic cd head unit in my '96 c180 i had the same problem and found that it was down to the power supply and discovered i had to bridge power from elsewhere to maintain a constant live supply in order to use the correct power fitting option between head unit ISOblock and car ISOblock allowing the aerial to stay in auto mode.

Just want to say, thanks for the help and advice. I manage to get the aerial to work.
Unfortunately, the head unit got stolen a day after i installed it. Talk about bad luck.

Thieving Scum

 sad to hear that. not to much damage in the process i hope :(
