Aerials GPS + GSM, adaptors, leads, converters

Most of the Antenna's listed on there are Hirshmann stuff so they are probably not a manufacturer.

They are not a MB oem supplier, that would be WISI.

Strange, I have been using WISI at home for years and never realised.

Thank you for that link with your first post, it is Finnish and I have plenty of friends than help there.

I have almost done my £8 conversion to digital TV, just the aerial spitters to do.

Thank you again

Thank you for your courteous response.

From the www.klinkmann.ee address I cannot find anything else than Estonian text, no Finnish or German as far as I can see. Cannot open the first link.

The Estonian company does seem to be owned by a similarly named Finnish company though: http://www.klinkmann.com/eng/

English and some other languages supported on their mother company web.

Well my problem is that I have fitted my £12 digi box and it works fine,, but I need the aerial splitter, looking at the MB digi retro fit I see the cable is listed, so I will buy one from MB, even if it takes next months pension.. Though I will never use it, I want it as I can do it, and if it is out there, I want it for that reason too.

Why do you need a GPS splitter box ? Is it an old ML or do you have Teleaid.

I have the 4 aerial inputs to the anolouge TV that I have to leave in to access the aux sockets, I took the tuner board out in a hope to bring a wire out for the digi box,but no way, there is an RF mixer board all SMD, it was impossible. With the retrofit MB tuner, they supply an splitter adaptor with the 4 to the anolouge tuner and 2 to the digi.

It must come as a spare part, as these things do go wrong

I'm intrigued now - what £12 digi box have you shoehorned into your MB ?

Just a normal digi box.

I started off by using the aux input on my command 2, then realised that my Command will not communicate with star, owing to some fault. Rather than worry about that I had second thoughts and found a baby 12v Digi box with an RF modulator, this is better in many ways in that it is instant when i push TV and then a number, rather than the process of going to AUX, OK i will not get stereo sound, but who cares.

The Antennas, all 4 go into the analogue tuner, I did not want to cut the leads as I hate doing that. It will be impossible to buy the Wisi click plugs so now I am working where to join the Antenna into the digi box.

As I said earlier the Analogue tuner has an RF mixer for the antennas and 3 front end tuners. The circuitry on the PCB is all micro sized and bringing a lead out is near impossible, so I may just cut the leads and tap off and feed the Digi box from the the cut /split.
As the Analogue will soon be obsolescent, I cant lose anything.

Thats it.

That's what I thought you meant, though your combo of Digi Box, Analog tuner and 4 inputs still has me scratching my head. In any case, just as I was about to down tools and get on with my life, you've reminded me that my COMAND-APS has an unused AUX/Video input that's just begging to be used for something useful... a homebrew [single tuner] Digibox solution sounds a very tempting experiment - reception will probably be a iffy for a single-tuner car-based digibox with a weeny aerial. Any experience/suggestions on that front ? Not too keen on a full size Yagi on the roof ;)

Digi signals are best received if you can without any pre amp. As far as I know there is no digi box, car or otherwise that is more sensitive in the front end.
When it comes to digi signals its all about where you live and the lie of the land. Do bare in mind that once the analogue is turned off, then the signal will be boosted by around 30% from to days levels.

Where I live, I have a 16ft mast on the house with a 60 element yagi, I cant even get analogue in the car, go to he top of the hill and its all there and digi.
My friend who has one in his new S class in Watford has no problems.

I do have a feeling that the 3 tuners in the analogue tuner are there for other operating systems like band 2 and 3. soft ware and country activated. After 55 years in this line I cant think of any other reason.

Its normal to boost analogue as I said, once I have done the aerial split, I will know more, that will be when it stops raining if ever. it is easy to add a booster if it would do any good. The thin cables in the car do have an effect on the signals, some times you have to use a booster over come that, I will know it all in a couple of weeks.

Re the type of digi box, you are better off with a box that can find new stations rather than a complete re tune, the reason being that once you have tuned to new stations outside of your area you can fill up all 69 of the channels from the transponders.
