Just an update on this guys, it was the MAF sensor causing the problems with surging at motorway speeds as predicted by the 'pros' of the forum (well it has gone since fitting it last week) I have only just got around to doing it!!

BTW the sensor was £175 from Euro Car Parts, Merc wanter £300

Question for the 'experts'

Recently I have had a loss in power (around 50%) it's just like having half the normal power on pullaway!

On the motorway once you get it to 70-80mph its fine but it's dangerous to pull out to overtake as its just dead!

This went on for a couple of weeks and then after a weekend it corrected itself for 2 weeks but now it's back again!

This is not the first time this has happened as a few months back it appeared, conected up to merc comp ecu showed no faults so did a reset and all was then ok?? (not sure how it cleared a fault that was not there!)

Anyone else had this problem??
