All things w168

Yes, as Edd said already, tall headrests are for the side rear seats.

I bought an extra one (tall type), and used it as a bottle holder - perfect.

This pic was taken before I replaced it, so it's a short headrest:

Now he's teasing us, I've. Tried everywhere to find one of these to no avail ;)

I have a brochure also, found a new one on ebay.
You should have kept it all, I'd have done a job lot with you! :)
I know - should've kept quite a few bits, not just the paperwork - pretty sure the rear sun blind would've been fine in my A200 too, as is the rear armrest.
It's no longer possible to get the 169 sun blind from MB ... :(

@Edd1968 that blue German one looks great.

Was trying to talk my daughter into getting the A210 but she worries about the mpg and insurance costs

...... it would mean me selling the CL500  don’t think I can have an excuse for 2

Mpg isn't bad (unless you boot it;))
They are extremely rare these days, just over 100 of my type. Whatever you buy, you won't lose money when you come to sell it, especially compared to anything else you buy. That will certainly compensate for insurance costs mpg etc. :)

We have the 2, it would compliment a CL500 ;)

What are they like on fuel? Mainly city driving for schools runs?

The E55K will do the motorway work. We have decided today after a lovely 200mile drive in the E55 that this car needs to be kept as weekend us only as the weather turns... she wants another Audi avant but I’m feeling the little A class!

I regularly get low to mid thirties, more on a longer run.
Remember this is early noughties technology though so they will never be as frugle as something much newer.
Mine's a 2.1litre mind. A 1.6 or 1.4 will be more economical but not as nippy.
Also not huge money invested and as I said before, there will be no depreciation.

These are the exact reasons why we were looking for a small car at first place. School runs, tube, shopping and other local errands. After two days of having it, have to say it’s a wonderful piece of kit. It is so cleverly engineered that it amazes me and my wife absolutely loves it. It’s really small but still with a lot of space inside even in a SWB (and trust me, four of us are not small people).
Fuel, I am expecting urban mid 30’s.

The wife has a 2006 2.4 Honda Stepwagon 8 seater, i have the 7 seater e55k,

She bought the little "A" as we call it lol to keep the miles off the above cars neither of the above cars get used on short trips, and being a 1.4 its handy for local trips to the shops etc, although i did drive it on a 200 mile round trip to London which it did with ease.

MPG the short trip on the School run 5 mile each way it returns 38mpg, longer trips its more like 45mpg. It's still pretty nippy but the power comes in at about 3k -4.5k all 70ish hp lol but it does only weigh around 980kgs so the power to weight ratio is fine.

Yes, they're pretty lightweight huh.
The A210 is a little heavier than that but still 100kg lighter than our Ford Streetka
There's alot to be said for power to weight ratio!

It looks like I'll have to change, very soon, NS lower suspension arm (wishbone). Is it DIY work or to take it to Indy? I have necessary tools but only one 2T hydraulic jack which means I would be working on the floor. How difficult it is to reach and unscrew the bolt on the chassis side?

You'll manage it I'm sure. It's not a complicated job, as long as you get it high enough which I'm sure your jack will do.
My suggestion would be to put it under the front subframe in the middle, that way you have jack the whole front up and have plenty of space when you've got the wheel off.
See image, forget the fact that half my front end is missing I was doing another job! ;) IMG_20181105_174013.jpg

Thanks. I have the same jack like you, don't we all :wallbash:. Can't lift it like you did because I'm on a hill, but side wise only.

You could always chock up the back facing uphill, then jack it from the front.
Then again you know your topography. You'll find the best way to Jack it up.
Let us know how you get on.
I have not needed to do mine on either car but its not a difficult job.

I know there is a 'look what I saw on ebay,' thread but I put it on this thread which is dedicated to the model. I hope nobody minds.
Alot of car for the money given the mileage with what appears to be 'Ox Blood' red leather. Or it could be the bad lighting in the images making look orange.
I wouldn't pay the asking price but a couple of hundred off, no warranty given or implied, plus a full tank and it would make a cheap to run practical runaround.....
