W203 slightly modified
Looking for a few suggestions on the most reasonable choice of upgrade from Steel to Alloy wheels on a W203.

A tyre dealer is offering me LOW Km wheels at an attractive price.

I dont want the *BLING* variants, just looking for a suggestion where the cost of the rubber isnt obscene.

I have at my disposal stock versions of
- Avantgarde wheels (16", 17")
- Elegance wheels (15", 16")

Any suggestions on which one looks like a better upgrade is greatly appreciated. Bearing in mind I dont race the car or burn my tyres.

I'd probably choose the 16" size for comfort, with a little tautness for enthusiastic cornering... best compromise.

If you don't buy his E-Class Avantgarde alloys (if that's what they are) where is he? I'm looking for a set without kerb marks.

Ian.

Ian.

I am looking at C or E versions. Would anyone point me to a website that pictures the standard rims. I had a booklet once and I stupidly loaned it out. So guess what .... now I dont have a reference guide.

This would be in Australia.

I understand that C and E (W203 and W211) swap nicely.

I think 16" Avant would be nice.

Australia... of course...

No point in asking what the postage would be I guess ;)

Cheers, Ian.

Its not the postage that matters, its the cubic volume and several months to ship the goods.

I might go and "do the rounds" at all the nominated Benz tyres specialists (all private companies) who seem to handle the bulk of the work for the dealers.

Surprisingly there is one tyre store that does the biggest dealership and they have rims straight off the floor, driven a whole 5 miles.

They have a massive pyramid of elegance and some avantgarde rims.
