ALMOST ripped off by garage

Very well done to you on doing that. I cannot stand garage's of this kind, and as a result, even though I've been in and out of beemers for a short while now, I still go to Olly when I need something. Its so hard to find a mechanics you can trust.

I nearly got ripped off by a garage the other day.

The mechanic tried to spin me a yarn but I saw straight though his spiel and in the end all I needed was some indicator fluid.

Funny you should say that....I've also got a Jeep that had a brake light out....garage tried to sell me a new bulb when all it needed was a drop of brake seed extract

VERY pleased to say that....the engine check light is still OFF after changing the vacuum hose (again, thanks BlackC55 for your instructions). Also....whereas the idle speed was drifting really badly (from almost stalling to often sitting at 1200rpm), it is now perfect - spot on where it should be, and steady as a rock.

BTW....if anybody in the Brighton area would like to borrow my remote ratcheting pliers for the hose spring clips, feel free to ask. Seems a shame to own them and not to share them as the make the job of removing the airbox to change the vac hose so simple.

Trading Standards ???? Has anyone on the forum used them sucsessfully in recent times? I have an issue that I would like resolved but the trader is just ignoring me so as long as he does that its a dead end for me.
