A **** heap
Hi everyone,
just was wondering if anyone here has got and/or fitted one of these?
An Alpine NVE-N099P sat nav unit?

as my question is
1. how hard is it to do?
2. where is the speed pulse line on a 98 clk230 cab?
as this is putting me off fitting it myself :(

3. my local audio guy is also wanting £100 to fit the unit for me :S
is this a bit much

any info would be great thanks all

£100 sounds good to me.
At least you know it will work when its all done.
Connect it up wrong and you could blow alot more than £100 putting things right.
Just my 2p's worth.

Speed pulse wire is in the passenger door sill .

But for £100 , its hardly worth getting your fingers dirty and scuffed knuckles is it ?

true, just wanted to do it myself really and save me pennys :)

I can't remember offhand what colour the speedpulse wire is either :o

Has it just got an ISO connector on the back ? if so , then do it yourself definately , anything more complicated ,and a hundred quid sounds ok TBH.

That unit my friend is GREAT!I fitted mine in my C43 and when you connect the tmc aerial it all comes together nicely. What disc are you running?Have you been able to back it up?

Hi si, save the £100 mate, speed pulse wire is on the back of the ISO connector , green\white if i rem right, that unit is easy to fit, ive got it and its the nuts, driven all round europe and its spot on!, you can also have your music playing and it will speak over your music.

thanks alps!

I used to fit these when i worked at a well know car accessory chain ;).
You should have no problems - only used to book most cars in for an hour to to this unit with the dvd screen. Iirc the instructions a pretty good but just ask if you get stuck :)

looks like the weekend is gonna be rainfree yay!

right, the unit is now all in (photos to go up later)
was just wondering is there any good ideas on where to put the GPS arial?
ive been thinking about mounting it inside the top of the dash?

On my C43 i have got two yes two gps receivers, soldered them together(for a better and stronger signal) and mounted them inside the 6x9 speaker covers, not sure if its the same on your model but its worth a look.If its the same as mine you'll have loads of space
