I am thinking of upgarding my audio 10 car system in my clk to a Alpine w200ri.
This is a double din stero with a i think 7/8" screen. Screen is always on display and does not fold back in, and has a wide screen viewing.
I am thinking of taking this stereo rather than a mercedes command system as it is cheaper to get an alpine rather than a used command system.
What do you guys think.

This is the stereo link

Kam, the only thing i can say is that the double DIN unit is hghly visible, and is even more likely to get stolen than the command..... something you may want to think about.

Why not get a flip out unit like the IVA-D310?

I have one of these and its a top unit, all and more functions tan the W200, and has the security removable panel together with fold in screen.

I purchased a flip up single DIN kenwood dvd screen AND a kenwood satnav unit that has the garmin maps already loaded. All in including fitting it was about £700 . The satnav unit is permanently hidden away behind the dash trim. Works for me.

Each to his own! My satnav system is HDD based so I have the DVD slot free for other discs - IFAIK command is DVD disc based so doesn't the DVD have to be in the slot? (unless it can connect to a DVD changer?).

I have the same set up but I have the Ipod connection as well I think it's a bloody good set up, plus when you come to security it's more discreet.

No mines cd based and you fit or have fitted by MB or yourself a cd changer and or ipod / and or aux input in the glove box.

Youv'e moved the thread off topic though, his post wasn't an "each to own" question.

I was telling him a price, that he's not strictly correct.
