Please tell me whether I am a sad individual and need to get a life or whether it is the norm ???

Just over 4 wks ago I purchased my 1st Merc - C63 AMG.

It's in mint condition and since I took delivery I have done less than 50 miles. It is parked in my garage and I refuse to bring it out until the weather warms up and the rain washes the salt away on the roads.

I spend most of my days cleaning / polishing / waxing an already spotless car.

My Mrs. thinks I have lost the plot and I am sure the neighbours are starting to become concerned about my behaviour - my garage door is up and down like a pair of prostitutes --ickers. I disappear in the garage for hrs on end - time flies when having fun I say.

Should I make an appt to get myself checked out or shud I tell them all to rod off ????

It was cracking weather here today in the Midlands. Time to start the engine and drive it I say :)

Personally I dont think you are sad at all, I do what you do most of the time apart from the 50 miles I do 100 miles a week:) and I love polishing the merc. Ive often brought the car out of the garage and thought it might get dirty and reversed it back inside and took the wifes car...:bannana:

Feeling better already. lol

Don't take it out. Just because its a new car doesn't mean it won't rust. AMG or not, they rust at the rate George Best drank lager.

I'm reluctant to take mine out, as since sorting the rust (only a 2005 car) it really is spotless bar all the mechanical issues.

A decent wash, a clay bar and some wax means she looks great and her paint is protected.

Normal. Mine only comes out once a year if it's lucky, for an MOT/service!!

Don't forget the bugs in the summer:eek:
not sad, just a proud MB owner with a new baby

I'd say hugely sad. You've bought a boggo C class, designed to cope with all the vagaries of weather that the world has to offer from Aberdeen to Zyzzx Road. It does have a stupidly large and powerful engine, with a baby-polar-bear destroying capability second only to a Humvee.

Your duty is to drive it, frequently and noisily for the benefit of passers by and possibly yourself.

If you'd rather not, I'll understand, I'll do it on your behalf for the public good.:thumb:

The guy I bought my car off kept in a garage, took it out to polish/fettle it and put it back again - do you want his number?

developer215 - ahh you see... you purchased a vehicle from someone with OCD like myself.....would anybody like to reserve my car when I sell it in 3 years time. Or will it only be worth two camels and a 1kg of sand ? :bannana:

Mate go and drive it, its a C63 AMG!

I used 1/4 of a tank driving 30 miles today, just went for a drive in manual mode and downshifted for no reason other for my own pleasure and so when i reached a increase in speed limit i put my foot down and swore then had a huge smile on my face.
Its mandatory to have your windows down while driving it as well.

pespro - the only place i've been so far (on a sunny / dry road day) was a blast down the Dearne Valley Parkway (which 'you' may of heard of).

that's the way to do it , and to the OP, yes you are sad, buying a C63 and not driving it ?:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

I should take the Golf TDI (1.6) for a blast......but it's not the same !!

Listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird with the windows down in my Glof TDI ....isn't the same either !!! lol :bannana:

If it bothers you that much, I'll drive it about for you and then you can clean it when I come back.

And I won't charge for this service, just make sure there's a full tank of petrol in the car.

Take it out for a blast every opportunity you can

When your life flashes in front of your eyes what do you want to see?

Adrenalin pumping drive passing everything on the road with ease getting serious g has you floor it, all with a big grin on your face while being engulfed in an amazing sound

Or polishing a lump of metal

You only live once so enjoy!

Yes i have got into trouble on that road. If i think its the same road, dead straight, very wide with two roundabouts?
