Not sure the F Type is anywhere near the same league? This thing will destroy an F Type.

This is a 458, McLaren, R8 V10, 911 Turbo competitor.

They've not released the car yet so it's hard to say. It's said that the standard model will cost £80k and have 485bhp which puts it in F-Type V8S teriotory, although the C190 looks to be lighter. The Black Series is said to have 585bhp, a 911 Turbo competitor surely :)

It looks like a cut and shut with a dodge viper front end an a Porsche 928 rear. Which is no bad thing in my opinion. It has the potential to be a great looking car.

Looks like they've got rid of the gullwing doors though, which although a bit mad and wildly impractical, are also kind of what made the car special, in the same way that the countach was awesomely mad.

I hope they don't sacrifice character for practicality, this is supposed to be super/hyper car afterall.

Seems they may be using the GTR as one of the benchmark vehicles - performance, not cabin quality I hope.

Mercedes have confirmed that its going to be called:

AMG: GT

Model will be unveiled later this year

The first pictures of the Mercedes AMG GT have surfaced online, ahead of the car's rumored debut at the Paris Motor Show.

Drawing cues from the SL and SLS AMG, the GT's cabin is sporty and elegant as it features two-tone leather sport seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and carbon fiber trim. We can also see a wide center console with metallic accents, a touch-sensitive COMAND controller and an AMG drive selector with what appears to be five different modes. The console also has buttons to firm up the suspension, turn off the traction control system and make the exhaust sound sportier.

The cabin also has circular air vents, a freestanding COMAND display and a leather-wrapped dashboard with contrast stitching. Other highlights include an Alcantara roofliner and auxiliary switches above the interior lights.
As we have previously reported, the AMG GT will be unveiled later this year and is expected to feature a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that develops approximately 520 bhp (387 kW). The company could eventually introduce an entry-level model that produces 480 bhp (358 kW) and a range-topping Black Series variant that develops up to 580 bhp (432 kW).

4 center vents!! It's not an S class

I agree slightly strange but the rest looks great.

A switchable sports exhaust is a good thing. I have spoken to my dealer about getting a go in a launch car and if it all comes together I might be in the market for one. The dealer principals went out to Spain recently for a briefing on this and a few other cars and and I had/have some reservation around the power but I was assured that it would be considerably quicker and more balanced than the SLS.
