Its a shame as this would have been a great event for us Mercedes/AMG enthusiasts to enjoy our cars together, having said that, there will be events such as Vmax, Fighting torque, Trax, etc that we can hopefully attend.

Ricky, you tried your best and we thank you for that, please don't let this upset you.

Ps, PM your number and call me anytime you need anything, I will let you know as soon as the Eisenmann is on!

Trackday event.

Hi guys, sorry for my little outburst yesterday, have slept on it all and am a little calmer, but just going to point a couple of things out, before I tell you where I am in all this.

I proposed this idea to you all, because I know, weather permitting, that it would be a most unbelievable day out, especially in the company of fellow Mercedes forum members. Out of all your interests, efforts and enthusiasm, and people being flexible to keep the venture alive, was born a 2nd date, this is a fact, and has been for a while and blantantly stated within the numerous posts, we were going on two dates.
Now that's all I am stating, I am going to suck up my grief from last night, and move on, and will continue with my efforts with this venture, if everyone is still ok with this, if not please say and I will step aside, and assist whoever as much as I can.
The actions of one party and the non response to date of Jon Mad and Dizwen (albeit my PM was blocked last night), is going to have a knock on effect for everyone, leaving me to ask everyone for more deposit monies so as to reach target of £1500 per date, anyone seen or heard from them or able to contact them at all?

Just to clarify, the idea of having 29/04 and 13/08 was proposed in this post

and was based on early feedback from members in the thread. If one was unhappy about chosen dates, one should have offered a date of his own. I think it is just common sense. So I'm not sure why Rick is to blame after all. Anyway, I hope we can put this all behind us and enjoy the event.

- it is the responsibility of the individual to either pay the balance or find a replacement driver if they are unable to attend
yes, pay in full if they cant attend and cant fill the slot - or we are all at risk
-can people state clearly their issues or concerns on this thread - no comment equals agreement
-to avoid any confusion can people advise if they are IN or OUT, " i might join later" or "i might do one of the dates" or I might just view" can be confusing
-can people view this thread on a regular basis

i think the above will assist Ricky to resurrect what will be an excellent adventure

apologies if this seems a little abrupt - i know we have a hard core of petrolheads who will feel the same
Ricky has spent a fair amount of time scheming this up and i think we all agree it doesnt want to be derailed again

in general all ok, but you cannot take silence as acceptance! you need all attendees to specifically agree to the terms.

When organising events in the past ive had many no shows and people say they want to come and then say no more... this is alot more money as well than TRAX tickets so it needs to be more concrete.

i think a PM or email from each attendee agreeing to the terms is needed else it can turn out messy if there are no showers, i for one couldnt afford to stump up extra cash for people who do not turn up!

confirmation will be a better solution -
like you i feel there would be a number of us who dont want to be lumbered with additional costs for the "no show drivers"
the rules/terms should reflect your point and be known and agreed at the outset
- we already have a small challenge to place the 7 or so slots that need drivers
we dont want additional "drop outs" which add to the task

Hi Guys, As I have stated previously if we need more attendees for the event then we may have to venture a far and may need to rope in others from other forums that may not be just AMG or MB vehicles. Nigel with the RS6 has offered to see if any of his pals would be interested but being he is currently on holiday and not back till next week will mean that the earliest he would be able to ask friends from his Audi site may mean that we dont get a response until late next week and even then may not be guaranteed to get the additional 7 required.

What do you guys think? I am sure he will be able to rustle up a few interested parties but wont be sure of numbers until then.

I do agree with the issue around the cost of funding the deposits for others that may not even show or get the added interest but again am willing to take a gamble if everyone else is in agreement. For both days we are saying that currently that the cost will be £164 each for both days in which this would be a lot of money to lose if everyone is not committed.

Sorry to pop in again, just doing some donkey work, given I will asking you all, to send me a cheque tomorrow, really need to see if anyone has excess to Jon Mad, Dizwen and BQF, (sorry mislaid him earlier), their the only 3 no. not to have gotten back to me re; the deposits. Anyone help with contacting them.
As Alps has raised, in my opinion, there will be no one subsidising others, none of us can or want to afford to be doing this. But as I see it at the moment as per peoples intent given to me, 29th April we have a definite 16 no. plus BQF if he appears imminently, and possible Palmball, who is "trying" to rearrange a holiday, so as he can attend, but for the moment lets say
16 no.
Re; 13th August as it stands, is 14 no. (includes palmball), plus additionally Dizwen and Jon Mad if they appear shortly, Rashman is currently studying the "very extra long range weather forecast" before he commits, but is onboard in principle, think he,s looking at insurance details in reality, but high hopes he wont let us down, he,s needed to entertain us all. I will detail another list later tonight of who,s on what dates, hopefully it,ll be correct this time. but definite 14, plus possible another 3 no.

Rick, thanks for your efforts. My pen is still on standby, I am happy to write out a cheque for the full amount for August 13th., if requested.

I may be able to fill a couple of places if we need to open the doors wider. My MD is a member of the GRRC and races regularly at Goodwood, but I would rather not invite him if possible - he will turn up in one of his race-prepared Porsches and drive rings round us..

Sorry to jump in late chaps - but can anyone join in ? I don't have an AMG at present - but woud love to come along to view, and perhaps join in if I can get a brave tablet.

I think I could perhaps get others interested as well - I know some people who run track days and they may be curious - particularly if it's goodwood. Advantage might be they know the insurance details and so on.... but your call.

The cheques to be fair to yourselves should be dated 7th-8th, by this date you will be able to confirm that I have spent your monies on booking the Goodwood dates via my credit card on Tuesday morning. Will send all details via PM tomorrow.
In the meantime I will call the mag I approached for potential coverage of our event, to see if they are intrested, they should be back on Tuesday, if not I have two others lined up to approach. I am also going to contact on Tuesday one of the sales guys at Brighton AMG center, to whom I have done a couple of TD with previously, to see if theyed be prepared to contact a couple of their own AMG customers whom have TD before, really only to attempt to keep as much Mercedes as possible. This said, I/we have to be very grateful to all the non mercedes owners who have already got involved here.

Following on from the threads above, can I suggest the terms and conditions below. Please confirm your acceptance by inserting your name below.


Terms and conditions of booking:

A) deposits are non-refundable

B) total cost depends on the numbers attending. You agree to pay your portion irrespective of whether you attend, and whether your car passes the noise tests.

For example, if you opt for the 13 Aug date and there are only 14 attendees for the 13 August event (i.e. no one else joins), you will pay 1/14th of the cost of hiring the Goodwood track. This is GBP 553.57.

For the 29 April, it is 1/16th which is GBP 484.37.

C) if you pull out, and you find a replacement, he/she must also agree to these terms and conditions. If so, you are released and he/she assumes your costs.

D) the minimum number of participants for the April date is 16, and the Aug date is 14. Unless these minimums are met, your booking is not valid and you are not committed.

Just to clarify, from some previous inputs; 1. need to switch gaz 1 over to the 13th august, think this is my error, but its all still balanced date wise.

2. In regards to having less than 25 cars per day, yes the cost per date would rise accordingly, but this will not happen, whilst I have no crystal ball, we have now accurred aprox 16 no. hard core, going what ever people for each date at present, that leaves us 9 people, even if the possibles, as listed don,t appear, to find for each date, thats 4 months and 8 months, stroll in the park, don,t be concerned, these days will cost £310 for each of us. I would put money on the fact by end of Febuary our book will be full, and we will be turning people away. I also have my clients, to which have some great cars, but again will only want to get them involved as a last effort, its a day off for me, dont want to think about work and clients, be too busy trying to chase you lot down!.

All sounds good to me and fully understand the position RE numbers and associated costs etc.

If we do want some more numbers nearer the time to try to stick to the 25 people, then I have a couple of good friends who will take places.

I am also waiting to see if the SLS can come on both days before confirming which, so at least one more place for me on one of the dates....

I am 100% definitely in for August and happy to pay the deposit for this date but I cannot make the April date whatsoever.

We actually have a holiday to Thailand booked for the last two weeks in April and I tried today to move it back a week so I could attend the trackday. However, as it's a multi-destination holiday (I go to Malaysia too) the amount of changes incurred far too many charges which makes that option out of the question.
