AMG Trackdays latest list at date...

A'int getting on no plane!!

Hi Ricky,

still interested and will send my deposit asap. As i live in the Channel Islands i will be booking my boat trip in the next day or two. The time work out v well for me as i will go on the overnight boat to Portsmouth which docks at 6.30 in the morning! On route to GW i will have my breakfast! The fast ferry leaves Poole Sunday lunchtime which ties in really well.

The problem is how i get my cheque to you as i am unable to PM and this is open to public. I think it best if i send you the total amount up front so my commitment is absolute!

Hi Mister T,
If you are about, please advise, and I will pop a contact detail up for you, but will need to edit it out within 10-15 minutes of posting it up.
Regards Rick (5.01 PM)

Hi Ricky, am here now!!

Hi Ricky,

got the number will call you in 5 minutes thanks

Latest listing at 23rd Feb

Hi Guys, heres the latest as of 23rd Febuary up dated list on our two dates.
I no. person listed for April whilst fully paid, has personal issures, and may not be able to attend, so the current 23 no. listed may be 22 no. but have explained, and he is understanding of the situation, that I will refund his payment only on the grounds that his position is refilled by another party.
Regards August 13th date, Mister T has joined us with another C63, he is coming over from the channel islands, so another travelling a big distance, along with a few of the existing booked attendants, big thankyou to all of you guys.

You will all note that Rick (not me) (no 23 April 29th) with the AMG Black series is hoping to bring his mate, Miro... some of you motoring guys may know this name...?

We have also a guy who is an amateur photographer, Cliff, who has asked if he could attend with us on our April date to practise his hobby, and in return give us access to his shots as a record of our day, to which I am sure we will all be very appreciative of. This said, in my eyes it would be good if an element of us took some of our own photography as well, if theres chance.

Excellent news Ricky and good to hear from you. Really pleased that we came up only a couple short for Aprils date and pleased that Mr T can join us.... Thanks for making the commitment to come all this way for what we no is going to be a great day and the first of many exciting trackdays for the MB Club UKs members.

Thanks Benjy, am looking forward to it, no flying involved!

Ha ha ha ha.... no fella, no flying we hope on the track either. Ricky has put a huge amount of time and effort into getting this set up and a lot of the guys going we have met at meets and are really good guys that love their cars. The nice thing is that by having 25 cars for the day and having the track to ourselves for the day means that we can run 5 cars at a time and no one is out to out do each other, but to have fun and go at your own paces. There are some fantastic and a variety of different cars that are going to be there so a real good mixed bag for all. Really hope you enjoy it...shame you can't do the April date as well as August's

Ricky I was going to say that thats great news re the photographer and very kind and generous of him to let us have access to the days photos free. I'm no David Bailey but as Cliff and Rash knows I bought a new camera so that will be with me to snap away and I know that my pal Nige will be providing camera action also.

only 8-9 weeks to go.....:D

Ricky has done a cracking job !:thumb:

Tell me about it Jet, it has gone really quick and I am starting to get excited about it all now:thumb:. Saying that are we going to try and have another meet at Bluewater soon. I was down there with Rash and Brabus Cliff the other Saturday and even thought it was just us 3 we had a right old chin wag and once again it was passed 11 by the time we got away.

Latest listS as of 7th March

Hi guys, just to advise of a further addition to our April 29th date, David, a client of Lopes 80, has joined us, with his Lamborghini, so yet another thanks to Lopes with his recruitment, and another intresting and nice car to join our day.
Further to advise, whilst we currently list at 24 no. sadly one of our paid up guys, has personal issures and may not be able to attend, so we may still require two further attendants to fill our 25 no. but theres still plenty of time, and whilst I have asked GW to fill the remaining places, I have not pressurised GW regarding this as yet, am feeling we will end up filling these remaining places ourselves.
Also to advise for your intrest, from what I understand from various communications, Rick, with the AMG Black series, is possibly bringing a companion, as stated in our list, a Mercedes AMG, McClaren and Top gear test driver, sounds like that will be great fun!

Gulp ! ive only got a basic C63

Ricky the line up looks fabulous :thumb: thanks again for your efforts :thumb:

I really should just use the search function. But. I've just bought my Slk55 and its a big step up from what I've driven over the last 500k miles or so. I have been toying with the Idea of a track day to build up my confidence and also help with my driving abilty.

Last rear wheel drive car I had was a Capri 2.0S. nearly 20 yrs ago

What is needed for a track day. Associated costs etc. Can tuition be arranged.

Cheers
Matt

Hi Matt, to answer,
A full UK driving licence,
A towing eye,
A crash Helmet, Albeit Goodwood hire these for £10 per day.
Individual insurance if required by yourself, (think you,ll find hardly anyone here booked, has this, we do have a third party liability insurance inplace, but this covers, spectators, Goodwood property/track damage etc, not individual drivers, passengers, or cars etc, you will be signing disclaimer forms before being let on the circuit).
A car in general good condition

Cost of the day is £310 plus the above if required, plus fuel and wear and tear.

The dates are both 25 cars max, only 5 cars per session, and your car must meet within 105DB sound test, your SLK will be fine with noise test.

We will have the chief instructor available within our paid package for tution/instruction, I HIGHLY recommend the use of his services, it will help you and others no end, to learn the corners, apexs, braking points etc. I always try to get the instructor at least once on the days I have been on, but he will only do prehaps 1 session with you, then leave you to learn what he has taught you, albeit you may be ablle to get him later in the day.
This said, the instructor will be spread a little thin over the 15-20 cars that might require his time. We do have an option to pay a further £250 I believe (will check this), and have an additional instructor on the day, but at this time we have not got this additional instructor with our days.

Hope this of help Matt.
Should you still be intrested please advise to which date you would prefer.

Regards Rick

All excited now, the Rowdey must be as well as it split its' oil cooler last week .
Anyway I've just fitted all new discs and pads (I'm saving for the fuel now, its' a 500 mile round trip for the old girl at 20mpg) and the oil cooler so all should be good.
Is mine the oldest on the day ? Surely one of the lowest bhps ?
What sort of time do we need to get there ?

Hi Trevithick, sorry to here of your troubles mate, hopefully all will be well when its all fixed. Think your right, your old girl, is possible the oldest, and more the reason everyone should so very much appreciate your attendance, along with your car. I will be intrested to hear of its history as previously mentioned, when we get time to have a chat.
Regards BHP, not sure, but anyone who has track experience, knows its not always about raw power, as long as you enjoy the day along with the rest of us, at what ever level our driving talents are, it will be worth the effort of attending, and feeling your talents may outstripe some of us novices.
In regards to arrival time, I was going to post up all the final details, of what to do and not do at the end of this month, but as you ask, ideally need to arrive about 8-8.15AM 8.30 at very latest , noise test, bacon rolls, coffee/tea, general chat and introductions, and marshalls briefing all need doing before 9.00AM sharp, when first 5 cars are sent on circuit, so alot going on between 8 and 9AM.
Look forward to meeting yourself and your car on the day.
Rick

Many thanks ricky for the useful info, is it ok to bring a collegue along (at this rate we'll be pushing it).
Also if you see some lost looking blokes in an old Audi please point in the right direction, the car knows Goodwood better than me but sadly I'm aimimg it.
For your info the old girl has turned up on the Youtube, it mainly doesn't look this clean.YouTube - Motomotion - Audi RS2 - Winter Protection Detail
Looking forward to it now.:thumb:
All the best.
Mark
