Hi all,
I was recently asked by a fellow MB owner if I had the pt. no. for the wheel arch extensions found on w202 AMG vehicles. As I thought he must of been mistaken as I had no such things fitted to mine, and had never seen a c43 with anything like this. But since then I have seen two w202's with what looks like narrow black plastic extensions on the arches. Does anyone know whether these are a Gen. MB mod if so does anyone have the pt. no's?
Ihave looked at the EPC an I can,t find anything listed.
Any info would be appreciated.

They are genuine parts as fitted to C43's i beleive ...

Member C43AMG has them on his ...

My C43 never had them fitted and I have seen loads of them without, and the fact that there is nothing mentioned in the EPC I thought they were an accessory.
I have a 2000 accessory catalogue and they do mention AMG wheel arch trims for use with style I wheels but there is no pic of them and at over a £100 a bit of a gamble if there wrong.

IIRC, its a legal requirement when wide wheels are fitted that the wheels are covered with a minium overhang (or somthing like that :) )

Im sure someone mentioned they were around £100 for a set from a stealers

Hi

My Dec 96 C230K had these rubber strips, really liked them. They were factory fitted with the 17" AMG's. Code 776 They are £50 each and you need 4 of them:eek:

Hi,
Can you remember how they were attached, as the EPC shows no fixings for them.

Hi

Yes they were stuck on. One of the front ones started to peel off one time and i priced up a new one thinking they would be cheap. Instead i took number plate stickies and trimmed them and put it back down and never budged. Still the same years later.

They're also great for protecting the lip on the wheelarch, so no rust!

Agreed, but if the glue is still intact there should be no water ingress.

they come with the amg package and are ugly looking rubber things, they dont look too bad on c43`s black car as its black, but any other color they stick out and dont look too good. i had them removed from mine when i had my indicators blanked out.

they were put on with factory amg allys to stop stone chips on the arch` s the wheels were wider, as they wheel doesnt stick out past the arch there is no legal requirement for them.

Yes all of the above.

Hi,
My C43 AMG did,nt have option 776 which included fitting of these wheel arch extensions hence the reason why I have,nt got them (not applicable to my chassis number).
Thanks to 230k the option code you quoted was correct it was confirmed to me by MB at the weekend.
