I've seen a few cars of this era (old Cosworth Sierras / Escorts etc.) and quite a few seem to be in the teens and early twenties.

Would anyone actually pay that sort of figure?

No it's just a silly price especially for a car that left germany as an auto. I'd say 7-8k.

4 star classics have a 2.5 190 for £12995 (I think) which has half the mileage with one family owner!
That would seriously tempt me!
