I am a 'stuck on' plate fan, as I hate the way that on even newish cars, where the plate is drilled, you can get a delamination effect!
Having said that, I haven't bothered changing the plates on my current car. They are the older-type typeface (pre a couple of years ago!) and are drilled and screwed with the supplying dealer's name on them (MB Edgware Rd?). In all fairness, they look perfectly neat and original.
Strangely they haven't suffered yet!
One last thing that I was wondering was is why most MB dealerships still use this method of mounting? The only suggestion I can think of is that because most of the cars they supply will have the screwholes in place, which would mean they then have to supply you with plate holders as well!![Roll Eyes  ](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f644.png)
Cheers,
Will
