Anyone driven or passengered in a CLK55amg

I mean the previous model to the present think it is W208 or something.

They are plummetting in price and are seriously nice looking motors, you get convenient size like a c class just a bit bigger with 5.5litre mental engine, would love to hear from someone who has experienced it.

I have been in a 51 plated CLK55 as a passenger about 6 months ago, it was one of my directors cars at my old company, this guy has had 500 SL's all his life and fancied an AMG, so he bought this from new. Firstly it sounds awesome even just on tickover then you just rumble away from standstill. We went out in the dry and this Benz was a total animal, he floored it out of a junction onto a main road and it went like stink, with the anti-skid light flickering on the dash all the way up the road. For a 2 door coupe its a lot of car, I have seen them for 20kish in Top marques for a 51 plate car withaverage mileage. The sound of it is awesome....

If you can afford its drinking habit go ahead and get one, you'll have a smile on ya face after every drive...

Owned an X Reg one in Silver. Fabulous car - seriously useable power and it doesn't look so different to the normal 208 CLK either. You thinking of buying one ? I still miss the one I had.

It wasn't too bad on tires, just cruising did something like 28 mpg, which is okay. On full power - well it beat most cars away easily, and the car still pulls like a train no matter what speed you are going.

Make sure its fully loaded with MB kit, and it should have a good history. Good article in Merc Enthusiast on these cars recently...
