Anyone friends with somebody really famous?

Frank Sinatra

Frank Sinatra.

Whilst on holiday in America I fell in love with a beautiful young woman called Sophie. I needed to impress her to have any chance of spending the night with her.

I knew Frank Sinatra was playing at our hotel that evening and managed to have a word with him at the stage door during afternoon rehearsals.
“Frank” I said, “Do you know I have all of your records and I’ve been to over a hundred of your concerts?” The great man was impressed, so I asked him if he could do me a huge favour during that nights performance by coming over to my table where I’d be sat wining and dining the very beautiful Sophie. He agreed to this and I thanked him very much.

Halfway through the performance after singing on top form, Frank left the stage with his microphone and from a distance shouted “Hey, Paul!” and made his way over to our table.
Leaning over myself and Sophie Frank said “How’s it going my good friend?”

To which I replied....

P!ss off Frank, can’t you see I’m busy..

My brother on getting Eddie Irvine's attention..."Eddie can you get Mika over here, I want his autograph".

I kissed Danni Minouge once. Properly too. I was backstage at some concert she did and asked her for a kiss so she did. What a day that was. My mate who I was with was gutted.

And then you woke up.

Vicky.......I think.

Used to book acts at Uni and the thread prompted me to play Air Conditioning by Curved Air for the first time in forty years (aaaargh). They stayed the night at ours after a gig in 1970 just after the release of the album. Went out on the lash with Rod Stewart the same year.

Yes. He's mentioned at the beginning of the second paragraph of your link. Click on his name (Anthony Coburn) and ypou will get to his page. This an abridged version. Click on history and then look at the account by "Stef Stargazer". This is my cousin Stephen, still angry after all these years. My comment to him is in References at the bottom of the article.

Just caught up with this thread again.

Didn't read all of that but I get the gist!

Cheers,
Jon

I had breakfast in a cafe ( pronounced kaf ) with Suggs from Madness a couple of weeks back!

I wouldn't say we're friends but how about Erin O'Connor - super model and M&S girl?

My brother-in-law went to her 21st birthday party, and as you can imagine there were super models aplenty. My brother-in-law did a mwah-mawah kiss with Yasmin Le Bon!!

My now brother in law played the part of Andy who was the son of Dennis Waterman`s character in The life & loves of a she-devil.

Not me, but my father used to know Roger Moore when he was involved with various things in London, "The White Elephant" being one.

He has also had lunch with the King of Sweden at a table with another 10 people back in the 80's.

Personally I have only ever seen Duffy, Depeche Mode (on stage + met), seen Clinton (3 times!), met Glenn Miller's nephew John Miller, met Dionne Warwick in London 3 weeks ago and played music for the Swedish King & Queen. Oh, and seen Alun Armstrong at Victoria Station.

My Wifes best friends son Daniel .... aka Conan Moores of the Manchester band The Courteeners -

Met Sir David Frost and chatted with him on a train to London on the day he did his last Sunday Morning show -

Met Sir Matt Busby & got his autograph when I was about 14 and used to loiter around MUFC at school lunchtimes -

Nephew used to work at the hacienda DJ' ing until it closed - he actually bought the DJ booth , and he tells us he has more recently dated Bianca Jagger, he is also good mates with the guys from Insprial Carpets and Noel & Liam Ghallager (Oasis), he is also on first name terms with Lloyd Grossman and hangs out with loads of other celebs in his line of work - he now works at EMI in marketing / promoting bands-

Used to live a few doors away from comedian the late Bernard Manning

Came face to face with Pricess Margaret at Royal Ascot once - but was swiftly rebuffed by her 8 feet tall bodyguard !

Daughters met Whitney Houston on Friday in the Dorchester who made a really big fuss of my one year old niece. My wife is her biggest fan, we weren't there!!!
