As the title suggests. When I get back from work in a week or 2, I will be removing the the mid section and gutting the internals of the secondary cats. Its just a shot in the dark if anyone with this work done already is around me I would appreciate a meet to make sure its not 'too loud'.

I've read all there is to read about it on here, but it would be really annoying if I did it and it wasn't what I wanted. If there isn't, ill just do it anyway and take the risk:rock:

I'm Near York. * Apologies if this is in the wrong section..

Cheers, Jake

Instead of gutting them why don't you get an x pipe in place and then if it's too loud you can replace back to stock.

I thought the x-pipe caused problems come mot time? Plus it doesn't cost me anything to gut the cats myself.

not near you but its not intrusive at all, just like turning the exhaust volume up a notch when driving/full throttle, possibly louder on idle but in no way obnoxious.

do it! ;)

Your right, I'll just do it!! Why not

^^your car profile does look pretty scary-- I am intrigued

I am located near a town called Pocklington, and yourself?

Go for it. I did mine. There is no change is noise....... Well until you floor the loud pedal then it's plain nasty :thumb:

Oh and enjoy digging out the internals....... It's a bloody nightmare !! Worth it though as you won't have any problems with an MOT tester failing your car because the secondary cats are not fitted.

I've had mine done and a Eurocharged remap too, it sounds like this now:

This isn't mine, it's a 507 which are a little louder anyway, but the same after the remap. I'm not sure where this guy has placed the microphone, judging by how loud it is, I'd say somewhere near the exhaust. I still need to strap my Go-pro on to mine and record it.

As previously mentioned, it makes very little noise difference in the car, it's just outside you notice it.

Mine pops and spits a bit more now too, but I put this down to the remap more than the cats.

Mine also passed it's MOT with no problem with gutted cats, so no wories there either.

Just go for it and enjoy that extra noise.

Ok Hornsea not far at all then. Surprised I haven't heard your beast whining then I'm up that way quite a bit when I'm at home!

I can't access YouTube offshore it's extremely frustrating , as there are so many videos of c63 secondary cats uploaded I know!

Cheers for the info and the pics it seems simple enough to do! I will get it done when I'm
Home. Then visit acid for a remap. Might as well!!

That's a pity, I while away many hours looking at YouTube whilst offshore. I'm on the BG Lomond gas platform.

My next evil plan is an FI valved exhaust, much and such as the iPE but with more parameters that it looks at to optimise valve position. Should be good.

I wish I had such luxuries! Videos of all sort are blocked on this vessel in Nigeria :wallbash: Oh well - we make do.

I was looking at the valved exhaust too, maybe one day. I would look at doing the headers myself first as they seem to be super restrictive. Is it the full system your looking at? Secondary gutting will do me for now :thumb:

My iPE valvetronic is midpipes, from the already installed X-pipe back, and back boxes.
The sound is night and day, or put in petrol head speak "Refined and Armageddon" :)

£2200 fitted :)
