One of my colleagues has a PC which is thoroughly loused up and I am helping him 'sort it'. I am OK with most stuff but need help with one major aspect.

He was previously with AOHell and wants to move to another ISP - I managed to get his modem working and signed up to Plusnet for him on dial up but the browser (IE) refused to navigate away from AOL. How do I remove the AOL take over of his machine. If I uninstall IE (can I do that?) where else do I have to expunge?

His current OS os Windows ME!!

Just done this on my dads PC. Went to Start, Control panel and remove programmes button. Found AOL and uninstalled it, it was pretty straightforward.

He is still on Windows 98 so used the internet connection wizard to set up a Tiscali pay as you go account, again all pretty straight forward just used the onscreen prompts.
