Are these Britain's most pointless double yellow lines?

perfectly valid I think, I bet muppets were parking there. No council is that pro-active so I doubt they did it off their own back, they must have had complaints.

Plus, if that guy thinks that is 18inches, how big does he think his willy is? He will be doing himself an injustice, presumably.

The best post I ever read regarding yellow lines was the guy who advised the councils that instead of painting the "No Parking" areas with yellow lines and making every town in the country look as though a big yellow slug had crawled along the gutters.
Just paint yellow lines where you "can" park. The councils would save a fortune as they would only need 1 gallon of yellow paint.

The lines simply make up the complete no parking zone on that road. They also ensure the entrance to that parking area is kept accessible.

Can't believe that made a story in a newspaper

Oh wait, it's the DailyMail.....

You are not allowed to park your bike ? Or better your matchbox toy car ?

What a ridiculous article. The instruction was obviously, "Double yellows along both sides of the road". So that's what they did.

Don't worry too much about the 18" lines that are clearly a lot longer. It's not half as irritating as when they have a science article written by a journo who obviously even failed GCSE General Studies, let alone getting quals to talk about anything technical.
