Just wondered if anyone had used an independent specialist called Around the Benz, based near Arundel in West Sussex? I want to have someone give my newly purchased W124 a good look over.
They have looked after my W124. Expensive but they seem very thorough and very professional. If it's in good condition it will be worth taking it to them and keeping it that way.

I've never dealt with John Haynes, apart from buying some parts from them, but you just know they are going to be excellent when you see the setup
I think what you need most with W124s is years of experience. I had one local non-specialist quote 4 hours to replace the rear subframe bushes, and decline to do the job as they didn't like the look of it, but Alan Robertson did them without turning a hair. Like Haynes he has a Star system & all the electronic kit though it's not particularly useful on these cars
around the benz! now that takes me back.... a guy called richard once set up a website for buying and selling mercs in the late 90's... he bought my e220 coupe off me too... he was selling the website, so i guess these guys must have bought the web address and the trading name!
MB of Brighton, which is actually in Portslade just outside of Brighton, they will collect and deliver the car and if needed, provide you a car. 01273 707070 if you want to give them a try, customer service is fantastic and the mechanics do a great job.

I've used Around the Benz several times and can vouch for them. Very good, knowledgeable service at reasonable rates. They have fixed things main dealers have had trouble with. I have actually posted in t5he past about them and you can also check them out on the site ' www.thegoodgaragescheme.com'
