Iam having problems with my audio 10 tape deck ,i took the car in for service B yesterday the audio system was working fine , when i got the car back i turned on the audio on, somebody had turned thew volume high .I turned the audio off , when i went to my car this morning i turned it on the audio system was working but it had no sound.
i rang the dealership up and told them what happened they told me to bring car in which is c270 cdi so that they can check it they told me the fuses are fine and that they had reset everything and they can not find the fault.
They have booked the car in for tuesday for further checks ,can somebody enlighten as to what has happened.
i personally think the amp has gone.

Hi ice

Sounds a bit of a coincidence, doesn't it

Can't really say what's wrong, however as it's unlikely that all the speakers have blown, it could well be the amp.

I have an Audio 10 CD unit here in excellent condition - took it out of my W203 last year when I replaced it with an Audio 30 APS. Model No is BE6021, Part# A203 820 22 86. Should be a straight changeover plus you'll have CD and not cassette (assuming it's a pre-facelift model that you have) :bannana:

Drop me a pm if you're interested, and I'll sort out a very attractive price, otherwise it's on eBay next week!

either muted via the phone if fitted or the main amp chip

Yes, that's a very good point! Well done television ;)

Or is the head unit simply muted? If so, a red mute light should be flashing. You need to keep the mute button depressed for about 5 seconds until it goes out (and hopefully sound is restored).....alas, I'm sure the dealer would have seen that, wouldn't he?

Thanks for the replies , me and my son went to the shops this evening the system started working when my son got out of the car and closed the front door the sound went again ,so i opened the door and closed it , it started working again .
It has something to do with the door i think maybe a wire might be lose.
