Trying to figure out what to replace my Audio 10 CD with. It has the annoying problem that it won't give me any traffic reports and general reception is poor. It also won't play CD-Rs (at least past track 3 or 4) and of course cannot play MP3s.
I'm not looking to install Command as I have an iPaq with TomTom3 for satnav. Of all the CD/MP3 headunits I've looked at, they all look so garish. Bright shiny fake chrome knobs, more buttons than the space shuttle etc etc etc. The only thing that grabs my eye is the Sony M850MP . I put one in my wife's RAV4 and it looks great but I'm worried that the install would not be easy on the CLK.
I have searched the net but cannot seem to find an autolead that is available for the CLK. All the leads out there seem to be for connecting the audio from a phone to the CLK wiring rather than converting the CLK wiring to fit the Sony like I got for the RAV4. Any ideas?
The other option might be to put a Changer with MP3 abilities in the back but then I'd still have no traffic reports. When looking for a changer, how can I be sure it will connect? I know that my CLK has the orange fibre octic leads, but are there any changers out there that connect directly to the Audio10 (besides a Merc one) without costly adapters?
