Hi

According to my manual there should be an option in the Instrument cluster settings to get the wing mirrors to auto fold in when the car is parked.

I cant find this option anywhere in the settings menu and was wondering do I need a firmware upgrade or something to get it?

The car is a Nov 05 E350 Estate Sport with memory seats.

Thanks
Ryan

Nope, you need a friendly person with a STAR system to enable it for you. They can do fuel tank content, cornering lights, UK mode deletion and tyre pressure loss at the same time ;)

EDIT: might be able to do auto dipping passenger mirror aswell since you have memory seats.

Thanks Alfie - the auto dipping passenger mirror, is this the feature when you reverse? If so it does that already.

Would they do this at the dealership for me, afterall it does state it in the manual!

I guess local "MB Specialists" would have a STAR system?

oh, i didnt know that! i want that!!!!

auto folding and auto dipping... can this be done on 2005 C200K Elegance SE?

its going in for Service B next week...
do you think if i ask nicely the dealer would program this for me?

In my experience, MB dealers simply say it's not possible (aka too lazy to find out how  )

Now Alfie and Richard can do it if you live 'darn 'sarf! (they did mine despite what MB said)

Hehe having it done Friday thanks to the guys at Comand. As to Dealer doing it, about as much chance as asking to loan a C63 for a week.

I can get my mirrors to auto fold when the car is turned off, there is a setting in the dash display acessed through the steering wheel function buttons to turn it on/off

ok I'll have to check the menu, but im pretty sure i would've spotted it...

im a fiddle, i like to play with settings and al menu's.

So Dealers is a no go, or not worth the time, as they probs wont bother...
so Alfie and Richard it is then... I'll send a PM (if im allowed...)

thanks all.

You won't be able to send PMs just yet (need 30 posts)

Alfie (and Richard I think) can be contacted via www.comandonline.co.uk

Dont do what one workshop did and enable folding mirrors only to find that the frames which fold have never been fitted.

Can you tell me which menu its in and what else is in there, I am pretty sure I would have found it if it was but you never know.....

Thanks

Can do it with my 55 E200. If you start and stop every couple of miles, it not recommended as it queek and may damage the wiring to the signal indicator. It is recommended to manually fold it by pressing one of the button in the cluster of buttons to change the angles of the door mirrors. :D

In the submenu of comfort I think. If you are not used to your own car, now it the time to get used to it. Don't set to preset factory setting after you have done it, all your changes will be gone. :D

OK Here goes

Get to the screen that says settings...to reset all settings etc..

Then press arrow up on the left of the wheel

with the + and - buttons just highlight convenience

Then press arrow up until you come to the screen that says fold mirrors on locking......

select on

and lock the car!

Does this work for all models with power folding mirrors?
or does the setting have to be 'enabled' using STAR?

I'll have a look to see if I have the setting, may have missed soemthing when I first tinkered with it!! :D
