I had a `B` Service on my 2004 SLK320 last week with a Mercedes Dealer. I got a call from them during the day saying they had done the service but there were a few Additional items that are recommended to be carried out due to age of car etc, this included change of spark plugs, change of filters etc, plus change of automatic transmission fluid. They gave me a price which of course was expensive but I accepted it as it was convenient for me to get it all done there and then so I told them to proceed. Yesterday I checked the invoice they gave me, to see if they had also highlighted the additional work carried out in the Service Book. All was in order except for the fact that I couldnt see any reference to any recommendation for the change of automatic transmission fluid. So have they intentionally conned me into having this done when I didnt need to ? Or have they confused my car with the newer SLK R171 which I believe DOES recommend a change of automatic transmission fluid. Either way I am going to ask the dealer about this but wanted views of others before I do so, so please reply if you have any advice for me on this. Many thanks in anticipation.
