Well done Andy. Joking aside have you seen the panel gaps on the Pink DS? It looks like the car is splitting open.

The DS is an interesting car in the same way my old Alfa Sud was but neither are "beautiful" but that doesn't detract from their place in motoring history.

the panel gaps are probably because unlike most cars the panels on the DS were designed to be removed easily - they don't have any structural value.

To compare the DS to an Alfasud in terms of beauty is just getting silly. One is regarded widely as an iconic piece of design that influenced a whole range of car design, been used to represent the pinnacle of it's coutry of origins engineering, been used to carry presidents, royalty and other heads of state, has been referred to as "the most beautiful car ever" by people far more knowledgeable and less biased than us and the other was a hastily thrown together Italian rust bucket which although it went quite well and had decent handling it always looked like it was never quite finished.

I think the whole poll idea is a bit flawed, casting my personal bias aside what about any of these

If I could thank you twice Andy, I would!

You see that page you linked to has the Alfa 8C 2900, the Bugatti Atlantic, and the Maserati Ghibli that I've already lauded :D

I'd also vote ... Maserati for the Ghibli (1966, not 1996) ... Alfa Romeo 8C 2900

Maybe people around here will start taking me seriously now ;)

Should the great marques have a car for all seasons, be it performance or comfort?

Matt Black 722 SLR:
Looking at the trailer parked opposite the SLR, I wonder if the local graffiti gang sprayed their art on the trailer, then came across to that beautiful car and emptied their spray cans?? ;)

Was it Basic Instinct where there were a matching pair of Lotus - one black, one white?

Why not buy Mrs H that black SLR for Valentine's day - and have a matching pair of black and white MBs?

If I sold my house and pretty much everything i owned .....

I could probably stretch to one ..... ;)
