Hi,

Hope this is the right section. Can some one please answer me a few questions :)

-What's is the realistic MPG with a mixture of steady & a little fun with no motorway?

-Any common problems apart from the head bolt issue on pre 12 plate cars?

- Apart from the Reg how do I check the Mercedes Spec list to ensure it has what it says in the advert?

- For a non track user is the Quaiffe Diff essential?

Sorry for all questions!!

Loads of owners on here who can give you good advice, although I don't own a C63 I do know that the N/A engines goes very nicely with the MCT auto box

Realistic mpg town driving 12-18mpg. 12mpg when u are happy, 17-18mpg when u r in a labile mood n feels like its just a normal day.

Quaife LSD is the best mod u can do as it improves confidence in handling car especially out of corners n on wet or rainy days.

No big issue with engine except beware of those with loads track history n no clear maintanence.
Disc brakes for PP or PPP OEM can be costly.

Other than that, after you get one, start fasting to save for mods n petrol as once u pop, u cant stop.

I have a W204 C63 which I will soon be part ex-ing.

I do mostly motorway miles, typically 50-70 mile journeys. I don't exactly drive at 55mph, and yet get between 22 and 24.5mpg on a run, oftenin the outside lane of the M4.

Town driving is another matter, if you're stuck and crawling then <10mpg is achievable - I think I once saw 8 after crawling through traffic for a mile over about an hour. Otherwise 18-20mpg if you don't drive like a hooligan all the time. Very enthusiastic cross country driving is probably 12-13mpg, but you'll likely run out of road, driving licence endorsements or brave pills to keep this up for long.

Problems on mine:
- Auxiliary drive belt tensioner went pop about a month ago. The part was £25, but total bill from Merc for the repair was £900. Listen for a rattly noise at tickover - I had noticed it and regret not investigating earlier.
- It does use a bit of oil, but I don't think this is a "problem", more of a "feature".
- Broke an alloy on a pothole, but that's more to do with the state of the road than the car
- Not a C63 specific issue, a wing mirror indicator repeater failed. Rather than pay £400 or whatever for a new mirror housing from MB, 35 quid on eBay and a 20 minute fix and all sorted.

I don't have the Quaife diff, so can't comment on if it's needed. However the car is quite lively in the wet (sometimes unpredictably so) especially on worn rear tyres. Keep the traction control on if it's raining would be my strong advice.

Otherwise, I've had 4 years and 50K miles of generally trouble-free fun. Car now has 65k miles on it, and I have lots of Nectar Points from BP.

Where is the best website to look at tuning parts and source aftermarket products.

Ideally would like to upgrade the air filter, fit a rear spoiler like the black series edition and bonnet vents.

MSL in Birmingham has anything you need

Projex UK can be hit n miss with the bonnet vents. Have seen a few of their work n some are ok but some are not.

Was it Gasman who had some done by them? The red c63 (IIRC) his looked really good

Hi, for tuning parts and upgrades please call acid or amio @ MSL on 07811 494 494
Thanks

Can anybody help me identify the difference between performance pack and performance pack plus. When asking non MB dealers on auto trader, most are unsure which it is and I obviously want to ensure I get the right one with LSD.

Thanks

Projex UK can sort you out with the bonnet vents.

...AMG..A question ?! is it feasible to fit a quad exhaust system with a new diffuser obv to a c250 petrol model or indeed a single pipe each side as in the c350 to my car ??..apart from the fun of its looks does it have any adverse effect on power or gain in power output.. ?? apart from the fun of its looks from the rear...is it also possible to connect the back box to the main existing exhaust system .. tks for info foxy52
