Hi

I have been reading about Engine Oils over the last few days and ive come to the conclusion that ESTER Engine Oil would be a wise buy for my C230 Kompressor.

Question is has anyone used similar engine oil and have you felt the difference? and if not is the standard MB/Mobil oil good enough.

Also what are the best spark plugs to install?

Thanks

Bosch F7KTCR plugs are whats recommended for the 230K and is OE. Its around £3 a plug from euro or a bit more from dealership. Look at the front of your engine bay, there should be a plate there which tells you what plugs were fitted from factory....

Mobil 1 would be ideal for your car IMHO - and good value if you get it from Costco at £23.50 for four litres.

I'd still with OEM MB plugs unless you have a specific problem that you suspect are down to the plugs.

Will get the Oil tommorow.

My spark plugs seem fine at the moment, no problems to rectify, was just wondering if I can get uprated spark plugs as I push her hard and I want the best possible bits for the engine.

Changing the plugs will yield a bigger difference than the type of plug you choose to use IMHO.

Yes as Mr Dazzler above, with a new set you will feel a difference. In regards to uprated plugs, in most cases the OEM plugs are best for the engine as they have will have spent time and money developing the engine with these plugs and thats reason enough to stay with OEM plugs.

I have also heard of people having problems using plugs other than OEM plugs in the 230K engines and experiencing problems such as rough idle, lack of power etc.

when i had this car i used Mobil 1 0w-40 Fully synthetic (its the best oil there is). Expensive, but kept my mind at ease because i was pushing the car constantly.

Plugs... i used bosch ones... 'Super 4' they were called. Noticably better than the crap that were on the car when i bought it (think they were some low grade NGK ones).
