Best MPG for you and your car?

http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/general-discussion/147565-47-1-mpg-2003-c180k-petrol.html

I was on the M62 near Leeds with the average speed cameras, I set the cruise control to 50mph, once the cameras was finished, I stuck to about 60mph.
I've had a average of 42 mpg over a 250ish mile journey, Liverpool to Minehead without even trying but never got a pic of that.
Pity i don't get that all the time ! normal for me is 23 mpg as most of my journeys are short trips.
The car has 48k miles on it.

C250 CDI with 7k I am averaging 39mpg, which I think is rubbish to be honest. I cant seem to get over 40 mpg.

I'd be disappointed with these figures too. Mine's a c250 manual and I'm sure that economy is easier than on an auto, but I averaged 60.1 on the (7% optimistic) OBC over the first 17k miles from new and have teased out 80 on several gentle motorway runs. Sweet spot in top (6th) seems to be around 1600-2k rpm equating to 55-75mph after which fuel consumption really dips.

E320 CDi W210 Year 2000 Best 47 mpg, average 36 mpg
CLK 240 W209 Year 2002 Best 25 mpg, average 22 mpg (Manual)

What is it with the CLK 240's getting lower MPG then the AMG's??

ML250 BlueTec 43.5 mpg.
This was 289 miles on gentle run from Cumbria to Essex via A66/A1(M)/A14/M11. Computer showed 44.8 but was still quite impressed.
Weather conditions very benign but was 4 people plus boot full of luggage.
Normally get mid-high 30's on shorter runs.

Best i have had so far was 60.1mpg which im happy with

25 mpg around town and max 38 on motorway at around boring 65/70 mph
Nothing to shout about. (CLK 200k 184 bhp)

Bet I've had from a tank is 46mpg, but I usually have to do some economy-killing driving during each tank - bikes on roof, town dad-taxi driving, winding around the Peak District etc.

I hypermiled it to work this morning and was extremely pleased to get 60.1mpg from cold start to key-off in the car park, with a peak reading of 61.5mpg just before the slow last bit. Knowing my OBC, 60mpg is about 57.5mpg actual.

16mpg on my daily commute if heavy traffic, 18 if the traffic isn't too bad. Around 22 on a motorway run.

CLK 270 best 73.2mpg but have averaged 51mpg over 31000 miles.
Has a cheapie tuning box which has given me about an extra 5mpg, plus it's a manual.

2001 CLK 230 vert

Roof up - 32.1 mpg combined average
Roof down - 22 mpg combined average

Now looking for an LPG conversion.

Am currently averaging 44.5 mpg in C class coupe 250cdi AMG sports +, just over 2700 miles from new.

Happy with that so far for sure.

I have just worked out that the SL320 has given me 25 mpg over the week / weekend. The work / home run is only about 8 miles local roads and motorway, the longest run was 20 miles of motorway. Mostly with the top down so I guess longer runs on the motorway would see some improvement.

Managed to get 83.1mpg from cold (one passenger and luggage) on a gentle 92 mile run from London to New Forest, mainly on M3 which is well surfaced and traffic was light all the way. Drove less gently on return and still managed 70.1mpg on the obc.

I have not been particularly careful about my MPG as the CLS was bought as a weekend toy, but looking on my screen, since I have had it 192hrs of driving has given me an avg of 36.9 mpg.

I should try some careful driving and see if I can get that up a bit.

Best 23mpg
Or 310 miles on tank( almost empty)
