Need to be doing some corrosion repairs soon-ish and whilst I have some aerosols of azurite blue which came with the car (two Halfrauds own, and once 'holts colour match') I should probably make use of the fact I have a big compressor, air filter and spray gun and buy some proper basecoat, then laquer it for a really good repair.
Where could I get, say a litre of solvent based basecoat from?

Apparently the aerosols dont give that purple flare in the sunlight, which would be sorely missed!

C'mon... surely someones done touch ups on their car and thought ' that looks naff' and then got some proper paint mixed up (basecoat, then laquer)?? Or maybe people have had really good results with holts colour match....

Use the proper mixed paint. The finish will be much better. It is a bit cold to paint without a heater atm.

if you do not remove the rust completely it will come back very very quickly.

Proper mixed paint as in Holts colour match? Yeah it does seem to be better than the normal halfrauds spray cans. Was just wondering if anyone had gone down the route of using 'proper paint', though I suppose you can't really get it anymore with the days of cellulose and 2 pack over.
I usually get brutal with a grinder and gently grind away until all the pitting is gone. Then zinc primer, then filler, then high build primer and finally something like POR15 for a really heavey duty final primer, then colour coat.
