Never mind having a maker's name and BSI mark ... how about this for a rear numberplate (apologies for crop from mobile phone pic. taken through rainy windscreen!). Looked like a strip of yellow tape, can't have been more than an inch or so high. And the reg. was in a very thin & stylised script (handwriting) font. I couldn't read it from 10' behind ... why bother, why not just go without a rear plate

I wonder how many points you'd get for an illegal plate, if you ever get done that is, as there are hardly any police about these days, and how quickly you could lose your licence on a fast motorcycle if you had normal plates. Don't blame them myself.

Reassuring to know there are one handed driver/photographers travelling along in your blindspot in the rain.. ;)

It is a ridiculous plate and he will get pulled at some point, unfortunately its a common thing in the biking scene but not something I have any truck with...

No speed camera or ANPR would read it, that's for sure.

I've got a full complement of hands, thanks :)

I was also in the passenger seat when I took the pic. (hence the angle) ...

Thats the whole reason I have no plate on my bikes, it got so small there was no point!

Hmm..BTB's fault is it.? I wonder whether the car caught the bike or the bike overtook the car.?

I did say it was a crop. Here's the full image, bike was turning right at the roundabout, we were turning left.

Nah! I bet he's got a LHD car:devil:

Actually ... my wife's previous car (silver Audi A4 estate, rather than the red one she has now) was LHD :D She brought it over from Germany when she moved to the UK. But the current one is definitely RHD :)

Paddock jacket, jeans, trainers, plastic crotch rocket. The only thing missing is the Simpson Bandit. 'nuff said.

Until they mow down your child and no-one can read the numberplate as they ride off.

There is a reason for standard plates.

Are you saying that because his plates are illegal, he drives dangerously and if involved in an accident would not stop. You can tell that from a photo? I had bikes for years and disregarded most speed limits, except 30mph built up areas.

I've seen countless respectable citizens drive through built up areas at reckless speeds with no consideration for children or pedestrians, although they do have legal number plates.

well said rf065. u dont get points in any case for illegal plates its a £30 fine and orderd to change them! because i had them on my subaru and i dont speed etc etc just for fun! the most likely people to speed are those in shirt and tie and think they are above the law because they earn more than the average person!!!!! also people put different plate on because the look better than the standard once! thats only in my eyes u may disagree.

I would certainly agree that there are plenty of idiots speeding who have legal number plates. However, the disconnection doesn't work in reverse - there is a reason why bikers wish their number plates to be difficult to read. At best it is to avoid speeding, at worst it is to evade capture.

I think some of its made of metal........................such as the ultra stiff aluminum beam frame ;)

No, no, no, what you want is a nice steel tube frame that feels like it's got a hinge in it

Kawasaki H2 is what you want, it is... :D
