Lots of Mercedes!
It was time to change tyres, so as i had these on a donor car (tyres are new), i refurbed them and i dont think they look too bad?

Whats the consensus?

Carat Duchatelet

While i do like the wheels Jay , they just don't look right on the w123, the wheels are too slab like ...

If you decide to not use them , there was a member just joined , who has bought a Carat kitted w124 , i'm sure he'd take them off you in a flash as he was looking for a set ....

As an aside, that yellow AMG kitted w123 is the nuts !! :bannana: you could drive the length and breadth of the UK and not see one like that ...

EDIT :-

What about colur coding the spokes yellow with a polished rim ..... now, that would look uber cool !!

I don't like the Carat jobbies.

The only car that can wear them is a W124 cab, on anything else they look pants.

Sorry Jay..

lol... i actually like them.. am i the only one!

Some like fat birds, others like skinny birds, and some dont care what they have.

IMHO the only wheels that look right on a W123 are those ones with a self-coloured insert. Not sure what they are called

The car is drop-dead though!!!!

Sorry Jay; adding my voice to the 'no' camp.

I prefer your 'before' picture wheels (if you want to get rid of them I might be interested.)

Now, what would your Carat ones look like on my C124 ;)

well i think they are meant for the W124, but to be honest, they have cost me a bit to refurb....

im still not convinced anyway, i like them!

Not bad, wouldnt be my 1st choice of wheel for a w123. Id have put AMG Penta's on the car.

Car looks great, fantastic colour but do prefer the first set, id probbly look at putting some wire dayton rims on it, thats me though, no taste!

Yep, agree with the pentas!

Jay, personally i would put the chrome back on the bumpers and remove the filler line so the bumper looks seperate from the body. It looks a bit too 'plasticy' at the moment.

From one 123 owner to another I think your particular car looks better with them on,and thats from one who normally prefers painted chrome embellishers over alloys any day. With that spoiler and side skirts alloys look the right choice on your car,as for me I intend to stick with my embellishers 123.

Thanks mate, the original full chrome bumpers are actually underneath the body kit still.. however removing it now would be too much work..
Again, i like it..

There was a separation between the kit and the car, but misunderstanding with the guy who restored the car back in 2000 meant he went ahead and blended it all in... I have gotten used to it now..

Bear - thanks mate!!

The before pic didn't load up before, but now i've seen it, it does look better with the Carat wheels than stock.

A car with a kit deserves upgraded wheels!

Its all down to personal taste, as NW Merc stated if you're happy with it then thats all that matters.

I'm afraid I don't like the Carats on the W123. The Carats do look better than the 8 holes as your W123 is bodykitted but I'd say AMG Penta's would look stunning, especially if you colour coded the centres

At the end of the day if you like it that's what counts.

Any photoshoppers that can colour the centres of the Carats ?

only one thing looks good on the W123 and that's the original colour coded centre chrome hubcaps anything else looks a bit naff

A definite NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO from me :)

Andy

I quite like them actually. A little lowering and it turns into an individual car.

I have some Penta's for sale too.....
